President and Chief Executive Officer
Scott entered the industry in 1990 and co-founded Iplayco in 1999. Scott has led the company’s executive team as President since 2003 and assumed the additional role of Chief Executive Officer in 2015. Responsible for Iplayco’s vision and corporate strategy, he also heads the domestic and international sales teams and works directly on product design to ensure new play structures align faithfully with customer concepts. Scott has successfully closed some $150 million in sales for Iplayco in over 60 countries with clients like Disney, Mattel, Wendy's, major league sports teams, children’s museums, airports, and several international brands in the entertainment, fitness, recreation, and restaurant industries. His ability to interpret and solve unique manufacturing, regulatory and cultural challenges in today’s evolving marketplace is invaluable as Iplayco continues to expand its global presence. Scott also lends this experience to the delivery and installation groups as they manage new relationships and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction across a multinational project base. Creating original products that shape industry trends, working continuously to strengthen long-standing and new partnerships, and expanding sales and production abilities are among Scott’s key mandates for the Iplayco team.
Chief Operating Officer
Dave co-founded Iplayco in 1999 and in the two decades since has expanded the company’s manufacturing operations from a small factory in British Columbia into a network of production facilities in Canada, Bulgaria and the Philippines. Dave oversees engineering, manufacturing and installation at each of these locations. He is responsible for harmonizing production with upstream and downstream processes so that every Iplayco facility and team operates to the same high standard. Dave’s 30-plus years of experience in manufacturing and construction processes, cost estimation and supply chain management have enabled him to craft a production team that can take new project orders and deliver them to specification and on time regardless of scale or customer location.
Max Liszkowski, CPA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Max joined Iplayco in 2009 following 13 years in public practice with major global audit, tax and advisory firms in Montreal, New York and Vancouver. He was named Chief Financial Officer in 2010, responsible for the company’s financial reporting, treasury and risk management functions. Max’s experience managing risk and building relationships within the financial community has enabled Iplayco to obtain tens of millions of dollars in funding on favourable terms. This has provided the company with the financial flexibility to win business in all shapes and sizes, including orders for some of the largest playcenters in the world. Max also led due diligence and completion of acquisitions in the Philippines and Europe that rebalanced the company’s operating structure to support sales expansion overseas.
Jenny Hu CPA, CGA, MBA
Jenny joined Iplayco in 2017 as Corporate Controller, a role she had previously held at two private companies in British Columbia for a total of 10 years. Jenny is responsible for Iplayco’s accounting teams in Canada, Bulgaria and the Philippines. She oversees the preparation of internal reporting to management, external financial reporting to public stakeholders, and supports treasury management, risk management, and acquisition due diligence. Jenny also works closely with the operations teams to streamline processes and improve efficiencies. Before moving to Canada in 2006, Jenny worked in China for several major US and European banks, handling credit management and due diligence.
Vice President of Operations
Laurie joined Iplayco in 2013 to lead the company’s operations, a role that includes direct responsibility for human resources and high-level strategic input across all group functions. He plays a key part in initiating and implementing internal processes as well as planning facilities and manpower allocation. Having owned and operated a large-scale family entertainment center for three years, Laurie reflects his unique perspective regarding client needs on every major corporate decision. In addition to his role at Iplayco at the parent level, Laurie is President of the company’s Philippine subsidiary IREC Corporation, where he oversees sales, design, production, installation and human resources, while also supporting financial oversight. With over 30 years of leadership experience in senior management and executive positions at international companies, Laurie’s efforts have consistently contributed to quality results, highlighted by several national awards for workplace quality and health promotion.
Vice President of Manufacturing and Project Management
Lyle joined Iplayco as Vice President of Manufacturing in 2014 to supervise production, as growing sales necessitated the addition of a talented manager to direct activity on an increasingly busy factory floor. His decades of experience in woodwork, metalwork and product engineering made an immediate difference. Today, Lyle’s expanded role includes project management and close collaboration with the company’s sales team to ensure realistic design and timeline decisions for large and complex projects. Gathering input as early in the sales cycle as possible so that production plans match customer expectations is a key tenet of Lyle’s management approach. He is also a strong believer that putting the right systems in place and continuously refining them is the best way to improve efficiency. In addition to his role at Iplayco, Lyle serves on the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters British Columbia Advisory Board.
Detchko Karagyozov, M. Eng, MBA
Vice President, European Operations
Detchko joined Iplayco in April 2019 as the company’s Vice President of European Operations. With over 25 years of experience in production and project management at leading international organizations deploying high operational standards and practices, including Siemens, Saint Gobain, and Sunlight, Detchko is a high caliber professional with extensive experience in the production sector. Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, Detchko is responsible for overseeing all functions of Iplayco’s operations in Europe. Detchko is a professional engineer in power electronics, has a master’s degree in business administration and has successfully completed several certifications, including, Executive Coaching, Leadership & Motivation, Change Management, Senior Lean Expert, Six Sigma Basic, Project Management and Sales Negotiations.
Ekaterina Madzhova, LLM (Bulgaria), LLM (Germany)
In-House Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Ekaterina joined Iplayco in 2018 as the company’s in-house legal counsel and corporate secretary. Ekaterina has close to 20 years of experience in regulatory matters, contract management, and mergers and acquisitions. Ekaterina oversees regulatory, contractual, insurance, and claims matters for Iplayco’s operations worldwide. Prior to joining the company, Ekaterina was senior legal advisor at Serdika Center Sofia, Bulgaria (Mall Serdika), and Legal Advisor in the Regulatory Department of major Bulgarian telecommunications company Mobiltel EAD. Ekaterina received her master’s degree in Bulgarian Law from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Bulgaria and a master’s degree in European Law from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich, Germany.
